Then I heard about DYB and so I called them to receive a free information packet. When I got it I read about their Professional Marketing Evaluation Service. It was just the starting place I needed. I called and sign-up for the Professional Marketing Evaluation over the phone. The next day I received a PME Welcome Kit with that Instructed me to send back to DYB a copy of my book with a form that O filled out in a prepaid overnight envelope that was enclosed. A DYB expert marketing coach called me the next day to setup my first of two evaluation consultations. I chose to set my appointment for the next afternoon so I could get fast direction to enhance my entire marketing program. My DYb coach interviewed me by telephone to ask me about my marketing, what I was doing, what I wanted to do by felt held back by, and he asked me a lot of thought-provoking questions during my first 45-minute or so interview. My DYB marketing coach was warm, caring and knew what to do. As I mentioned I had sent in my a copy of my book, all my self-made marketing materials and a brief description of what I wanted to have happen with the book. He then generated a full 38-page marketing evaluation that gave me the most direction on all marketing and sales issues. It contained actual contact information, it was customized for my book and categorized so that I could begin calendarizing new actions to attain new sales, both in the book trade and using direct to consumer fulfillment. This program evaluate the marketing strengths and weaknesses of your book and your book program, so that you can set the right direction and gain momentum with less slowdowns. I believe that I made twice as much progress with the objective advice of the Professional Marketing Evaluation program. I would recommend it for small publishers who don't know what to do next or have discovered that the things they are doing aren't working. It cost extra to do, but it was well worth it for me.
